Electrode for Welding Cast Iron Machinable & Non Machinable

SAITRON 800 NM

Description:

SAITRON 800 NM is a non machinable low heat input electrode for welding of cast iron. It is best choices for surface preparation of cast iron to give subsequent layers with Nickel and Ferro-Nickel electrode. Electrode burning with strong arc force and deposit weld of spray type is very much useful to seal the cast iron.

Applications:

It is highly suitable for surface preparation of cast iron to give subsequent layers with Nickel and Ferro-Nickel electrode. It is used to seal foundry defects etc. weld deposit is non-machinable.

Note on Usage:

Before welding remove oil and grease. Clean weld area by grinding to remove cracks or worn fatigued surface of components. Use electrode on AC/DC+ at the lowest amps. Deposit short, stringer beads with short arc. Electrode can be weaved 1.5 to 2 times its diameter. Deposit in short weld beads about 25mm to 50mm with frequent interruptions to allow cooling to take place. Peen deposits while hot, after each pass, to limit the internal stresses of the base metal. Preheat is usually not necessary unless very heavy sections are involved. In some cases preheating to 3000C and slow cooling is recommended. After welding is completed job should be cooled slowly with even rate, cover with mineral blankets, or with warm dry sand or lime.

SAITRON 850

Description:

SAITRON 850 is a basic coated low heat input Ferro-Nickel all position electrode for welding of cast iron, and joining of cast iron to steels. The weld deposit is highly crack resistant. Smooth welding arc with less spatter. Weld deposit provide good level of strength, toughness and machinability. Good weld joints in Grey, Malleable, Nodular or Spheroidal cast iron and some alloy cast irons. Suitable for use on both AC and DC -/+.

Applications:

It is highly suitable for repair and fabrication of cast iron housings, blocks, machinery parts, frames, casting defects, repair of cracks, etc. It also suitable for joining application of cast irons to carbon steels. Used on machine beds, pump casings, valve bodies, valve flanges, bell housings, motor covers, friction press discs etc.

Note on Usage:

Before welding remove oil and grease. Clean weld area by grinding to remove cracks or worn fatigued surface of components. Use electrode on AC/DC-/+ at the lowest amps.
